Arguably one of the hardest people to buy for, Dads. I’ve managed to gift every kind of BBQ accessory under the sun and now here I am, a month out from Father’s Day and stuck for ideas. Luckily, our co-founders George and Will are both dads so I was able to ask them, what are the Best Gifts for Father’s Day? Here is what they have recommended for every type of dad:
The BBQ Dad
Too many BBQ accessories? Although the limit doesn't exist in our opinion, you could always make him a BBQ sauce from scratch, to drizzle on meats and veggies. We love this recipe from Sean Brock.
The Stylish Dad
Every dad needs a decent leather wallet. If you’re wanting to add a personal touch, you can make your own! Just like we did here. It's perfect for keeping everyday cards in a safe (and stylish) place.
The Outdoor Dad
There's nothing better than an open fire. Even better when we can easily light it using the Firelighter. Inspired by Alaskan whalers from the 18th century, the Firelighter is a revolutionary way to light your fire without kindling or newspaper.
The Professional Dad
The best ideas come on the road. Make sure he can keep notes anytime with his G&W Field Journal. The perfect size for in the car, the briefcase, or in the office.
The Wine-loving Dad
Treat him to a selection of his favourite wines. You can never go wrong with a good Pinot Noir. A monthly wine subscription is the gift that just keeps on giving. And if he doesn’t like wine? Whisky is good.
The Creative Dad
For designers, artists, and the dads who always make notes, the Studio Roller is your answer. The wall-mounted Studio Roller is a wall-mounted kraft paper dispenser, simple and functional in design. The butcher's paper is refillable too, so if your dad needs more, he can always order some extra rolls here.
The Eco-conscious Dad
A fresh pair of sneakers is always a great addition to your dad's wardrobe, and even better if they look great and save the planet in the process. Collective Canvas create cool shoes that do their bit for the environment, made using naturally grown and sustainably sourced materials.
The Handy Man Dad
If your dad knows his way around a workshop, he's bound to need an extra tool or two. Something we can't live without and regularly lose is a tape measure. Even if your dad's already stocked up, we'd recommend getting him one that's small enough to take on the go.
The DJ Dad
Bring back memories from his youth with the OJAS Speaker. Any old style speaker will have the musical dad stoked, and if he already has a speaker, gift him a cool vinyl from one of his favorite bands.
The Golfing Dad
Anything golf related is well received. We have our fingers crossed for a new Head Cover. You could even plan to spend a morning on the golf course with him and hoon around in a golf cart!
Whatever gift you choose, your dad would probably love a homemade card, having a chat with you, or seeing you on Father’s Day.
