Blade Signs
A blade sign projects out from the wall, perpendicular to the building, so it's read from along the street rather than only by people standing directly in front of it. That's the difference between being found and being walked past — on a busy footpath, down a laneway, or along an interior corridor.
Every sign in this collection projects, and every one is double-sided, so your message reads to people approaching from either direction. All are powder-coated aluminum, weatherproof and rust-resistant, and all arrive blank for your own artwork.
Wayfinding and interior signs
The Circle, Half Round, Rectangle, Square and Vertical Blade Signs are the smaller shapes, at around 1 kg each on a pre-drilled mounting tab. Used for restrooms, room names and directional signage in cafés, offices and studios.
Choose the shape to suit what's going on it: Rectangle is widest, so a full word like TOILETS fits at a readable size. Vertical is tall and narrow, for stacked lettering, an arrow, or a tight corridor where a wide sign won't fit. Circle and Square suit a symbol or a number.
Storefront signs
The Circle Sign, Round Sign, Store Sign, Square Panel Sign and Big Round Sign are sized to be read from down the street, projecting between 13.4″ (34 cm) and 37.8″ (96 cm) from the wall.
Choose on how far away you need to be seen and how much footpath you can occupy. The Circle Sign is the most compact and also includes a base stand, so it doubles as a counter sign. The Store Sign hangs from its bracket and swings, in the tradition of a classic shop sign. The Big Round Sign is the largest, at an 80 cm face.

Illuminated
All four of our light box signs project from the wall and light from within, running on 12 V with an integrated dimmer. The Round, Rectangle and Curve Light Box Signs have an illuminated face on each side. The Simple Light Box Sign is a projecting box with five brandable faces — both sides, the front, the underside and the top — so it reads to people approaching from several directions and to anyone standing directly beneath it.

Which blade sign should I choose?
Start with the distance. Interior wayfinding signs are read from a few metres down a corridor, so the smaller shapes work. Storefront signs need to be read from across or along a street, which means a larger face and more projection. Then pick the shape to suit your content — wide for a word, narrow for stacked lettering or an arrow, round or square for a symbol.
Are blade signs double-sided?
Yes, all of them — that's the point of a projecting sign. If you're having one branded, you'll need a decal for each face.
How far do they project from the wall?
The storefront signs range from 13.4″ (34 cm) up to 37.8″ (96 cm), measured from the wall to the outer edge including the bracket. Exact figures are on each product page.
Do I need council approval for a projecting sign?
Possibly. A sign extending over public footpath often needs consent, and many councils set rules on maximum projection, minimum clearance height and sometimes size. Requirements vary by country and council, so check locally before installing. Heritage and conservation areas usually have tighter restrictions.
How high should a blade sign be mounted?
For storefront signs, above 9.8′ (3 m) clears pedestrians while staying readable from the street. Interior wayfinding signs work at eye level — and if you're signing a public facility, check your local accessibility requirements first.
How are they mounted?
Wood screws are included, designed to fix into solid timber framing. For plasterboard between studs, or for brick, concrete or tiled walls, source the appropriate anchors from a hardware store.
Because a projecting sign cantilevers off the wall, the load on the fixings is greater than the weight alone suggests. For anything above a few kilos, we'd recommend an installer assess your wall first.
Can blade signs be used outdoors?
Yes. They're powder-coated aluminum throughout, so they're weatherproof and rust-resistant, including in coastal locations. On the light box signs, the sign housing is built for the weather while the plug, dimmer and cable connection go indoors — so an outdoor install runs the cable through the wall to an interior power point.
Do they arrive branded?
