What is the Bakery Display Case?

The Bakery Display Case is a countertop display cabinet for pastries, cakes and baked goods, built from acrylic panels that slot into an aluminum frame. It comes in three widths — 16.5″, 26.8″ and 38.6″ (42, 68 and 98 cm) — all 10.2″ (26 cm) high and 15″ (38 cm) deep, in black, brass or white. It's an ambient case: not refrigerated, and not heated.

What else is the Bakery Display Case called?

The Bakery Display Case is also known as a pastry display case, cake display cabinet, countertop display case, or bakery display cabinet. It's an ambient (non-refrigerated) case, which distinguishes it from a refrigerated deli or patisserie cabinet.

Is the Bakery Display Case refrigerated?

No. The Bakery Display Case is an ambient display case with no refrigeration, designed for items that are stable at room temperature — pastries, cookies, breads, cakes and slices. For anything requiring temperature control, you'll need a refrigerated cabinet.

Can the Bakery Display Case hold hot food?

No. We don't recommend hot food in the case, as heat can distort the acrylic panels over time.

Is the Bakery Display Case airtight?

No. The case is not airtight or sealed. It keeps dust and larger flies off your product and keeps it visible, but it won't extend shelf life the way sealed storage would.

Is the Bakery Display Case made of glass?

No, the panels are acrylic, which slots into the aluminum frame. Acrylic is significantly lighter than glass and won't shatter, which is why we use it for a case that can get moved and cleaned easily.

How much weight can you put on top of the Bakery Display Case?

The top of the case supports up to 18 lbs (8 kg). That's enough for a second case of the same width and its contents, or for lighter items like signage or a small plant.

Can I stack the display cases?

Yes — cases of the same width stack two high, and every case includes the hardware to secure them together. Don't stack a smaller case on a larger one; the weight sits unevenly, and the stack becomes unstable.

Does the Bakery Display Case have shelves?

No, the case is single-tier by design, so everything sits on one level and stays visible from the front of the counter. For more capacity, cases of the same width stack two high.

What color is the hardware?

All screws and handles are brass-colored, across all three case colors.

How do you clean the Bakery Display Case?

Acrylic scratches more easily than glass, so use a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or paper towels. Our care guide covers cleaning the panels without scratching them and getting crumbs out of the frame grooves.

Can I use a pen on the Bakery Display Case?

A dry-wipe or whiteboard pen could be used on the retail display case for displaying prices, but for neater menus, we'd recommend using our Pricing Signs or the ever-popular Counter Signs.

Can I get the retail display case in any other colors?

The Bakery Display Case comes in black, brass and white. We don't offer custom powder-coating, but a local powder-coating specialist can recoat a case in any color you like.
