Home Furniture & Furnishings
Most of what we make started life in cafés, which means it's built for spaces where things get used hard and floor space is scarce. Both of which describe a lot of homes.
The through-line is using walls and ceilings rather than floor. A drying rack that lives above your head instead of taking up the laundry. A table that fixes to the wall in a hallway too narrow for legs. Shelving you can rearrange without re-drilling.
Laundry
Hanging Drying Rack — a ceiling-mounted airer on a rope-and-pulley system. Lower it to load, raise it to ceiling height where the air is warmest. 45.3″ × 23″ (115 × 58.5 cm), holds 22 lbs (10 kg), with polyurethane-coated American ash dowels that won't mark wet clothes.
Wall Mounted Drying Rack — folds flat against the wall between washes, so it disappears when it's not in use. 25.2″ (64 cm) wide, extends 23.6″ (60 cm), holds 13.2 lbs (6 kg).
Laundry Hamper — a natural container that sits in the room rather than hiding in a cupboard.
Tables and seating
Wall Mounted Café Table — a round table that fixes to the wall with no legs, in 15.7″ (40 cm) or 23.6″ (60 cm). The pole flips between two heights, so it works as a breakfast bar against a bench or a lower table against the wall. Holds 17.6 lbs (8 kg).
Café Table — freestanding on a weighted base, 31.5″ × 23.6″ (80 × 60 cm), seating two. Aluminum, so it works on a balcony or courtyard as well as inside.
Lounge Chair and Wooden Lounge Chair — seating for a living space.
Shelving and storage
Wooden Pegboard Shelf — a 31.5″ (80 cm) square birch board with dowels and shelves that slot in anywhere on the grid, holding 11 lbs (5 kg) per shelf. Rearrange as your needs change, without re-drilling the wall.
Floating Shelves and Ceiling Mounted Shelves — wall and ceiling storage that keeps surfaces clear.
Paper rollers
Studio Roller — a wall-mounted kraft paper dispenser in three widths up to 35.4″ (90 cm), shipped with a 75 m roll. A drawing wall for kids, a menu board in a kitchen, a notice board in a studio. Takes standard rolls from any supplier.
Daily Roller — the compact version at 8″ (20.3 cm), for shopping lists, notes and messages.
Common questions
Is this furniture designed for homes or businesses?
Both. Everything is built to commercial standards because that's where we started, and the same pieces work at home. If you're fitting out a café or shop, see our café furniture and display cases.
What works in a small space?
The wall and ceiling-mounted pieces. A Wall Mounted Café Table takes no floor space at all, the Hanging Drying Rack uses ceiling height that's otherwise wasted, and the Wall Mounted Drying Rack folds flat between washes. All of them free up floor rather than filling it.
How much laundry does a drying rack hold?
The Hanging Drying Rack takes 22 lbs (10 kg) — a typical household wash of shirts, sheets or everyday items. The Wall Mounted Drying Rack takes 13.2 lbs (6 kg). Wet laundry weighs roughly twice its dry weight, so a full load of heavier items like towels or denim is best split across two runs.
What's involved in installation?
Wall and ceiling-mounted pieces come with fixings and instructions, and need a drill, a level and usually a second pair of hands. The supplied screws fix into solid timber framing or joists — for masonry or plasterboard, you'll need appropriate anchors from a hardware store. For anything carrying weight overhead, we'd recommend a builder.
What are these made from?
Natural materials and metal chosen to last: American ash, birch plywood, oak and pine, with powder-coated aluminum where strength or weather resistance matters. Fixings are stainless steel.
Can any of it be used outside?
The Café Table and Wall Mounted Café Table are aluminum and built for outdoor use, so they suit a balcony or courtyard. Shelving, drying racks and paper rollers are for indoor use.
