What is the Round Sign?

The Round Sign is a projecting round storefront sign that mounts to a wall and extends outward, so it's visible to people walking along the street rather than only those directly in front. It comes in two sizes: 15.7″ (40 cm) face projecting 21.5″ (54.5 cm) at 7 lbs (3.2 kg), or 23.6″ (60 cm) face projecting 30″ (76 cm) at 19 lbs (8.7 kg). Made from 100% aluminum and supplied as a blank.

What else is it called?

The Round Sign is a type of projecting sign, also known as a blade sign, hanging shop sign, or storefront sign. Because it sits perpendicular to the building, it's read from along the street — unlike a flush-mounted panel sign, which faces directly outward.

What sizes does the Round Sign come in?

Two. The 16″ version has a 15.7″ (40 cm) face and extends 21.5″ (54.5 cm) from the wall, weighing 7 lbs (3.2 kg). The 24″ version has a 23.6″ (60 cm) face and extends 30″ (76 cm), weighing 19 lbs (8.7 kg). Both measurements are from the wall to the outer edge of the sign, including the bracket.

On a 9.8″ × 2.6″ (25 × 6.5 cm) plate fixed to the wall.

Does the Round Sign come with mounting hardware?

Yes. Stainless-steel wood screws are supplied, designed to fix into solid timber framing. Stainless steel won't rust or stain the wall over time, including in coastal conditions.

If you're mounting to brick, concrete, block or render, you'll need to source the appropriate masonry anchors yourself — the supplied screws are for timber only. Your installer can specify the right fixing for your wall type and the weight of the sign.

What is the Round Sign made from?

100% aluminum. Aluminum doesn't rust, so it holds up outdoors better than steel or timber — including in coastal locations where salt air is hard on signage.

Do I need council approval to install a projecting sign?

Possibly. The Round Sign extends 54.5 cm or 76 cm from the wall depending on size, so it sits over public footpath in most installations. Many councils and local authorities require consent for projecting signage, with rules covering maximum projection, minimum clearance height, and sometimes size. Requirements vary by country and council, so check with your local authority before installing — and if you're in a heritage or conservation area, expect additional restrictions.

Is the Round Sign suitable for windy locations?

Once correctly installed into a solid substrate, the Round Sign handles normal exterior conditions. In very exposed or high-wind locations, the projecting design puts more load on the fixings — particularly on the larger size — so we'd recommend a professional installer assess your wall.

Does the Round Sign come branded?

Is the Round Sign double-sided?

Yes. Both faces are visible, so the sign reads from either direction along the street. If you're applying a logo or business name, you'll need a decal for each side — worth factoring in when you brief your signwriter.
