Outdoor Signs
Everything here is built to live outside. Aluminum throughout, so nothing rusts — including on a coastal street where salt air is hard on anything else.
That's the dividing line for this collection. Our menu boards and counter signs contain steel and stay indoors; these don't.
Freestanding
Sidewalk signs sit on the footpath at eye level. Folding A-frames, swinging signs, letter boards for daily specials, and poster frames taking a printed A1 sheet.
Standing signs are taller and upright, visible further down the street. The Large Standing Rectangle and Curve Signs have hollow bases you fill with water, so they hold their ground without separate ballast.
Wall-mounted
Blade signs project from the building, so they read from along the street rather than only face-on. Small wayfinding shapes for restrooms and directions, up to storefront signs with an 80 cm face.
Light box signs are illuminated, so your frontage still reads after dark. Four shapes, all with an integrated dimmer.
At the door
The Open / Closed Sign mounts to glass on either side and handles any weather — the slider is part of the sign, so there's nothing loose to dislodge.
Common questions
Can these signs stay outside permanently?
The wall-mounted ones, yes — blade signs, light box signs and the Open / Closed Sign are installed and left. Freestanding signs are designed to be moved: brought in at close, or taken inside in bad weather. That's what makes them suit leased premises and footpath trading, where nothing can be fixed permanently.
Which signs handle wind?
The Large Standing Rectangle and Curve Signs have water-fillable bases, which is the most stable option we make. The Swing Signs and Poster Sidewalk Signs include a sandbag. For the rest, sandbags are available separately. In exposed or coastal locations, or in heavy weather, bring any freestanding sign inside.
Will they survive coastal conditions?
Yes. Aluminum doesn't rust, which is why we use it — salt air is what kills steel signage, and it doesn't affect aluminum the same way. Fixings are stainless steel for the same reason.
Do I need council approval?
Possibly. Signs projecting over a public footpath, and freestanding signs placed on one, often need consent — with rules covering projection, clearance height and sometimes size. Requirements vary by council, so check locally before installing.
Can I update the message on an outdoor sign?
Several are built for it. The Large Letter Sidewalk Sign and Letter Swing Sign have rails and letters included for daily specials. The Poster Sidewalk Signs take a printed A1 poster that swaps in seconds — and for wet conditions, printing on coreflute rather than paper handles the weather.
Can I get my logo on them?
Yes. Every sign arrives blank, and a local signwriter applies a vinyl decal of your artwork. Projecting and freestanding signs are double-sided, so you'll need a decal for each face.
